Music: Most anything other than rap. I call it Bach to Bachman Turner to Bacharach. Classic Rock, Soul, R&B, Funk, Blues, Country, Folk, etc, etc, and, so on and so forth. *S* Songs: "Take It To The Limit" Eagles, "Deacon Blues" Steely Dan, "Cathedral" CSN, "It's Not My Cross To Bear" Allman Brothers, "Would Jesus Wear A Rolex" Ray Stevens TV Shows: When I watch TV, I watch mostly History Channel, History International, National Geographic Channel, Military Channel, Comedy Channel, Ovation, ESPN, PBS, and the world famous "Naked Archaeologist" is an old favorite, I wish there were more episodes. Things on past and present political studies, history, archaeology, sports, and different theologies, which after all, is a team sport with the contestants competing for individual souls. Movies: "Full Metal Jacket", "Hair", "Animal House", "Dr Doolittle" (both original and remake), "1776", "The Jungle Book" (animation - How could I not love Baloo???), "The Seventh Seal", "Death Race 2000", "Rocky Horror", "Dr Strangelove", and, "The Ruling Class". Anything with Peter O'Toole, Sean Connery, or Jack Nicholson Books: "A History of Western Civilization" Russell, "Common Sense", Paine, Bill James "Baseball Abstract"s, "Brain Droppings" George Carlin. Carlos Castenada. Even though they aren't considered "books", the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Any author expressing a wish to live free, and speak truth freely to power. Don't be sceered, Just a beard" -- George Carlin "The Desaderada" More About Me: So, lets see, we've established that I love free speech (and the rest of the Constitution), I'm irreverant, I've got a weird sense of humor, and that I can be intellectual and thoughtful; so, how about: Even though I don't believe in any "religion" I do believe that there is a God (by whatever name you might call Him/Her/Both - I lean toward both) and that He sent Jesus The Christ for our salvation. What man has done with that message leaves me cold to "religion". I also believe that Jesus was the first Socialist Revolutionary - in the purist sense of the word. Read closely about his thoughts on those considered "less than" or that were without. Look again at the "Beatitudes". I'm a cuddly Teddy Bear with a tickly beard, I'm very much a romantic, I love a great conversation (even if I'm a lil shy at first), I love to laugh and play, yet I live in the real world. I have two rescue dogs, one I'm allergic to. Mr Dude is an American Eskimo Dog I rescued the night before he was to be put down. He's been with me for seven WONDERFUL years. Would have never taken him back if I'd learned the first day that I was allergic. His name is Angel, but, I changed it because he would hang his head when people called him a girl and said he was pretty. So now there's no doubt that Mr Dude is a boy. *ss* I have a lil Jack Russell mix (about a year old) I named Waylon that thinks he's boss. He was rescued from a abandoned construction site and I adopted him from the lady who found him. He's been with me for about 6 months now. My avatar represents my lil boy Charlie who passed away last year. I had him from first woof to him dying in my arms at 16. I still miss him very much. He was a Doxie-Corgi mix. And, I'm a disabled Marine from the Nam era. Hey, ya gotta laugh or you'll cry. And that's just the way it is. I was a voluneteer at 17 in 1974, and, yes, knowing what I know now, I would have done it again. All I learned there and after being disabled has been worth every minute. I take each day, fight for my benefits, goof with the dogs, the neighborhood kids, and their parents when they're around. I'm the local watchdog while folks are at work. I'm looking for the multi-factetted lady who can deal with a multi-facetted man. One unafraid to love deeply, passionately, emotionally, and physically, and capable of receiving it all back in return. Hey, I'm a lover not a fighter. I only fight when I have to, I love whenever I can. -
