I can't stand beer.

Try some Pilsner Urquell before you give up. *Maybe* the best beer in the world (and I don't like beer either).

Which kind of woman does that one get you?

Or does it work that way?

Actually I see it differently. So it's clearly a book targeted toward women. If a woman buys it, she's looking for different actions that will result in different behaviors.

In that case, I find it MUCH better to buy a book that tells ME what to do differently. I can't control what the guy is going to do anyway, the only behavior I can change is my own.

So I don't think those books are telling us we're the reason that rlationships don't work, they're saying here are some other ways of acting that you might try out and we get to choose the ones that work for us.

On way to think of those books is that they actually EMPOWER women to change their lives and change their actions as long as we don't follow them slavishly.
Great way to put it, StatGamer. I've also read the book and some of it resonated with me when I was reading it. But he is extremely wordy. The whole book could be probably summarized in 2 pages (I am tempted to do it...)

Are you saying, that the DVD-s are not worth buying? I was wondering what they are about. It is just him talking or lecturing before an audience or what? I am curious.

It is just downing on me that the book is actually about how to catch and KEEP a PLAYER. Other men are not that hard to "catch" or "keep". It is men who have many options or don't want to get tied down too early on (that could be relative, how early on, some are like that in their fifties) who are hard to keep.

I actually went through and highlighted the portions of the book that were worth anything so I can help you in your summarization efforts (would that count as a publication for us do you think? Been a while since I had one )

A friend had the DVDs. They're him lecturing in front of an audience. I tried to listen to them. Tried again. Tried once more. Gave up. They are even more redundant than the book, and my attention wandered soooo many times that I'd finish a chapter and go...wha..? and I'd have to rewind the stupid thing. Only to go...wha..? when I'd finished it again. Useless.

You are a witty kitty.

Yes, please do give us that two page summary. I'll admit I'm curious.

And yup, that's my thought too---that kind of stuff is often about playing games with a player.

I always say, "Don't 'play' hard to get. Be hard to get." In the sense that you (rhetorical you) value yourself, have standards for the kind of mate you want, abide by those standards, and seek mutual compatibility. And you're willing to walk away if that doesn't happen.

And yup, that's my thought too---that kind of stuff is often about playing games with a player. That's just not fulfilling for me. And I just don't find players attractive.

Now, undercover players can be really good at the game. So a woman may be attached before their cover is blown. But I've learned to just axe them too.
