I met someone really nice several months ago. She was attractive, intelligent, confident... just about everything that I would initially look for in someone... but, well... I can only blame myself... I talked with her for awhile and then I got her phone number and email address from my sister...

After one email I ran scared... there just seemed to be too many expectations... but they were mine...

She was a friend of my sister's family and I was kind of set up... I still get an email from her once and awhile far and few between... and when I do it just reminds me of what I could have possibly had and I didn't even give her a chance... I would have been kind of long distance but it wouldn't have mattered since it would seem we both travel allot anyway...

At this point it is neither here nor there as I didn't even give it a chance... Don't do what I did... run like a coward. Think really hard and then sleep on it for a week before blowing someone off because of fear...

I would do it different if I had a second chance... as unlikely as that seems after blowing her off...

Thanks for listening... I really needed to vent this...

What's wrong with getting in touch again and suggesting getting together? The worst she can say is "no thanks". You might be pleasantly surprised.

I'm sure there are many of us here who've done similar so vent away, Dennis. Still, with what you've said here, it seems that you have nothing to lose be contacting her again.

There is a secret to going out on dates with women. The secret: you have to talk to them.

Once you know the secret, then you may not be able to date every woman but you will be able to figure out who is interested in you and who is just being polite. In your situation, you really don't know which category that girl falls into. You may think that you missed your chance, and you may have. But you will never know for sure.

It might not be too late, ask her out for say,, lunch, just to catch up on what she has been up too.
Don't make it a "heavy" date.
Nothing ventured nothing gained,, unless she is now"taken".

Send her what you wrote here, Dennis. There is nothing like a heartfelt truth to touch a woman's heart.

And the next time you feel cowardly, PM me and I'll remind to you stand firm.

Don't rule out your chances with her. What did you do - poof on her? This EH guy did this to me last fall. But I started getting spam from his e-mail address this summer; notified him and he wrote back, and we have ended up dating casually.

So don't write this off just yet. You say she still sends an e-mail now and then -- she might be testing the waters. E-mail her back to let her know you got her last e-mail and open up the lines of communication.

Who knows? Your prayers might be answered!

OK Dennis....we need details. What did you do exactly and why do you think there's no longer any chance?

Read the part in red above.

Seems that she is still thinking of you. When she sends an e-mail do you respond? Like the others have said you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, contact her.

Yeah I'm with Jayjay, why do you think there's no chance?

She's emailing you now and then. That sounds like a chance to me. Suggest a get-together with her next time she emails. Nothing high pressure. Something fun.

Or better yet, take the bull by the horns and send her an email and suggest getting together.
