I absolutely love Michelle and Barack. They are an inspiration to everyone who wants a strong, healthy family. I loved it recently when during their interview with Barbara Walters the President to be told his wife that she has lipstick on her tooth. She rubbed it off and looked at him to see if it was all gone. I loved this. Michelle is such a strong role model for women. I really look up to her. I have always been a strong woman myself and have never had to have a man around to be happy. You can see that they love each other very much and are together by choice. They have fun together and seem to have mutual respect for each others ideas, needs and wants. They are going to be a wonderful, inspirational first family. I am looking forward to the next four years. I am 53 years old and have never been this excited about the presidency since JFK. My very best wishes to the new first family.

This is interesting. 5 people have rated this artilce, but no-one has posted a comment. OK - as one of the resident "foreigners" I'll get the ball rolling. Of course, I'm biased, so we can take that as a given!

I think Michelle and Barack have THE perfect relationship. Although we never know what goes on behind closed doors, from everything I've read and seen, there doesn't seem to be even a hint of a crack in in this couple's love.

I do think the article here is a little light on as far as content goes. Sorry eHA, but this seems rather opportunistic marketing to me. Yes, Barack IS the President-elect, so he is most definitely newsworthy: they are newsworthy as a couple. Yes, putting this article up means your site will come up on SO many more Google searches. You could have put more into the article I think. It seems hastily put together, with a few publicly well known snippets of their life together picked up and repeated.

This couple are an example to all about how to conduct a relationship successully and I think eHA could have given this article more depth. Dating Older Women got two pages, this article barely gets one.

Can we get an article on Clinton, Clinton, and Lewinski?

You’ll get your comments then.

I respect the Obamas and believe they have some solid family and personal relationship strengths. I wish them the very best.

You're right, D, we would undoubtedly get more comments then. But that's sad, isn't it? We have more to say about unhappy news than happy. The Obamas look like an exceptionally happy couple (as far as can be told from outward appearances) and when he calls her the love of his life, he looks like he means it.

Did anyone else see him taking the lipstick off her teeth in the middle of the Barbara Walters interview on Wednesday? Priceless!

Because it’s a sign of their relationship, or because nothing[/i] a politician does in front of a camera wasn’t planned and rehearsed … and what does that say?

I don't think D Lion's comment was cynical . . . it was realistic. The Obamas have both been in the political arena long enough now to KNOW they are constantly being watched (and now more than ever). I'm sure they're both very careful to act accordingly. It's just the unfortunate reality of public life.

That said, if I were the wife of a man whose profession caused us to be public figures, I would definitely ask him to let me know any time I have lipstick on my teeth (in addition to my bra strap showing!). Who else is intimate enough with you to watch that for you, and take care of it? It only makes sense.

In addition, Obama's campaign has very obviously been carefully orchestrated down to the last detail since long before the candidates were narrowed down to only 2. I'm sure the perception of his and Michelle's relationship whenever they are seen in public has also been just as thoroughly scrutinized and planned.
