So here is some background information. I met this girl, we dated for maybe 2 months, stuff just fell to pieces on her end I guess. I was fine with our pace until Holiday's rolled around. She really wanted me to meet her parents, and there was also talk of some european vacation in a year and a half, which I really didn't have an issue with but she scared herself with talk like that.

Anyway maybe the week before Thanksgiving she broke up with me (over the phone) saying, and I quote "I don think this is going to work steve, I am at the time in my life when I should be dating failed artists and musicians, not someone who has a career and a downtown loft. I just need to go spread my wild oats". I was a little shocked, but no big deal, its called dating for a reason.

Fast forward 1 year. Last week, I get a call, its her! I am still single and we talk for an hour. We talk about maybe giving it another shot, and I figure, why not our conversations were always great. So a few days later, I call her up to see if she wants to go to this Halloween party down by where she lives being thrown by a friend of mine. Now, and here is some more background, I bought a house maybe 3 or 4 months ago to save money and have an investment. She says on the phone, "Steve, I know what I want and it isn't the suburbs. I am just sick of not taking risks, and don't tell me that you are a risk because you are not, so I don't think this is going to work".

My question is, am I crazy, or is this girl so confused about what she wants, unhappy in her current situation, and just wants to be rescued; OR is something else up? And I have never known any girl to say 'spread her wild oats' or 'I should be dating failed artists', did I miss some new pop culture thing while I was in college?

Sometimes the simple answer is the most accurate one - the girl is nuts. The better question is why do you keep giving her the time of day? Are you that bored with your life that you need that kind of drama?

Yup, immature and nuttier than Mr. Peanut. I can so see a thread from here down the line that is something like "Why can't I meet any good guys????"

I had a girl in college tell me that I was great marriage material, but not good dating material because right now, she "just wanted to have fun." The funny thing is we weren't even dating at the time, I merely asked her out.

What is the age spread between you two? I get the sense she is low twenties and you might be 30's. There is a good chance she is nuts, but there is also a good chance you two are in completely different stages of life.

There is NOTHING wrong with you.

She is a nut job, a floozie, and after a YEAR of "sowing her wild oats" she could be, by now, a walking petri dish of sexually transmitted diseases.

The REALLY crazy ones are often the best in bed, it's said, but this one has NOT in the slightest, consolidated her feces, and YOU CLEARLY HAVE, so GTFO.

And I mean *now*, kick her to the curb.

If THAT isn't clear enough, here is what she is, a picture of her, for you.

If - gawd help you - you impregnate her, your life will be DOOMED and your accomplishments for naught, trust me..

Well DancingFool, we jus ttalked randomly. I didn't think I would hear from her after a year ago, just trying to understand what just happened.

MicMan, I hear that frequently enough as well. "If only we met maybe 3 years from now, blah blah blah"

RebornInFire, She is maybe 4 months younger than me. We are both 24.

She's all over the place! I want you, I don't want you, yes I do want you, no I don't want you. And you only dated for 2 months ... she seems not to understand the concept of uncommitted dating.

I don't the Burbs have anything to do with it!

She watches way too much television or something. It sounds like she's one of those people that live their life as if they're on an episode of Sex in the City. It's not you, it's her.
