I am a member of EH, I have had a couple of guys take to the OC level, some closed me understanable others just stopped answering me, one guy answered me regulary, we spoke through OC regularly, then nothing he stopped answering me, and once he updated his profile, EH sent me an email about it, but he never contacted me again. I was wondering is it normal with matches to do that? Are there any real sucess stories out there other than the ones that EH advertises? Has any of you had any issues with EH of that aspect? Please someone tell me, what am i missing?

Thank you

Lola I think most folk who use eH for any length of time have experienced some or all of the things you talk about - it's the nature of the beast & just takes patience to make it work for you. Some hate it and would never waste any more of their money on subs, but others like me have had good success & find it more useful than not. I guess it'll just take a bit of time for you to figure out where it stands in your life. If you're getting decent numbers of matches just give it some time & use it as a way of meeting new, single people. I feel that the people who despair most are those who feel eH is going to deliver "the one" to their email inbox within a couple of months. Good luck!

Personally, I think I was hit by the internet dating Karma train.

I was communicating with a guy and it seemed to be going okay, but there was always a tinge of something unsettling about his answers. The answers weren't bad, just not totally how I would have answered.

Anywho, my friends told me to give it a chance and keep going. I get to open communication and when it came to speaking to him 'free hand' I realized we really weren't compatible. So I do the very immature thing- I stop talking to him.

I didn't think I should keep talking, but at the same time I didn't have the guts to close him, so his profile is waiting for my response, though I am sure he no longer is. I also have a few which have reached MH/CS and after reading their list, I just knew it wouldn't work, but again I took the coward's way out and left them hanging.

So Karma came back to me- HARD.

I sent questions to a guy who seemed great, but got no response. After over a week I closed him and then he sent a message asking me to reopen him, so I did. Then we go through the next four steps in four or five days. Finally it gets to OC and I write my message, spell check it, read it over and send it.

No response...it has been five days...this is what I get.

So the karma train came a rollin and now I know how it feels. I know these are people I have never met and vice versa, but it still is fustrating and stings.

I know how you feel. In almost 2 months, I've had lots of matches, but onlytwo matches go to OC. One emailed me twice, and took a long time replying between each reply...ok...busy, I thought. Then, I waited for 2 weeks, and get a reply for "other". Other????Aren't there enough choices there? Other just makes me feel horrible. The other match was over an hour away from me, and that just doesn't work for me.

I won't be renewing my membership here. it's expensive, and if I want to feel horrible about myself I can get that for free on another site. I thought the hoopla about the 29 dimensions would mean more appropriate matches, but obviously most are non-paying.

Maybe if they reduced their prices halfway between the other paid sites and what they are now.....

In 7 months I had 1 match go to OC and then she fell off the face of the earth. I haven't had any other match even come close to OC.

I have no problems get alot of matches to oc, my problem is after a while i lose interest in them and then close them out. I've only been with eh 3 months and i have no real complaints about it, moy only complaint is i don't like internet dating and that isn't ehs fault, people misrepresent themselves on eh, and even on eh advice people aren't what they appear to be, i found out the hard way, but that hasn't deterred me from having hope. Hang in there guys, this new way of dating takes patience. Mikey

I have not had issues with matches going to OC; I have been on EH a couple weeks and have had about 6 go to OC (and several in upper stages of GC). Some I initiated, others I did not. Most matches are quite in line with my settings, and those I close out (or they close out) have been as we are on different sides of the border (but within distance setting) or for me at least there was something I just did not like about profile, etc.

I have had a couple dates with one match (and another planned for this week) and am really interested in pursuing it and focusing on that (and him), so I intend to close my matching for now and put the others on hold or close them out as he & I slowly get to know one another. It’s early yet, but I am not one to keep chasing greener grass when my yard looks pretty good and has great potential with some more love and care J

I was on other dating sites a few years ago, and I have to say I much prefer EH. I like that there is less “trolling” for booty calls, or “intimate encounters” (I mean I like sex, but I don’t want it to be the only reason someone shows interest!). I LIKE that you are not reading screen names like “SIXPACKABS456” and hearing how they will “rock your world”. I am at a point in my life I want to build something strong and based on emotional intimacy and connection, and this seems to be a good site to meet people whom share that interest. With my current “date” I made no bones about I was serious about finding someone whom I shared similar values with, to build a long term relationship with, and had that connection/chemistry with and yet was not going to settle. On other dating sites I have been on, that would have someone run for the hills (I am a very independent, strong person…but I DO want this!). On this one, as I am being matched with people with similar goals and values, instead it is readily accepted. So far with him we have been able to share some pretty intimate parts of “who we are” and I have felt extremely comfortable doing so (because I think we are a good match it just feels like I can be very open and honest!), and it’s uncanny how similar our perspectives and values are in the areas we have talked about.

Whether or not things work out as we take our time to get to know one another is left to be seen as we are taking it slow, but I do know that I certainly feel the “system” did an extremely good job at sorting out what for me is important in a partner, and a relationship and actually matching me with people on that similar wavelength.

I think, you just have to be open to the experience. I have had a few relationships in my lifetime. Some I met through friends, social activities, other dating sites. And obviously….they all did not work out in long run or I would not be here! But I have always been OPEN to meeting people through different means and really keeping a positive outlook on it. It’s not for everyone, but that does not mean it’s not for anyone either!

had a heap of matches come through over a short period of time so did the right thing and "winked" at them or closed the ones I really would consider out straight away - NEXT - of the minority who replied to the wink - 1 went to OC then nothing after meeting. Doesnt matter - NEXT! Found I got more responses if I actually send a match something to actually reply to! SOOO sent of a stack of 1st questions - of the minority who closed ME out i didnt mind even if it was "other" cos it means I dodged a bullet on that one (whew imagine what they would be like in real life if they are THAT impatient online!!) - NEXT - of the minority who replied with answers I closed some of them out with their responses - dodging more bullets now! I close people out if i get a weird feeling - NEXT - they also close me out for who knows what reasons (weird feelings probably!) - NEXT - then comes the MHCS - sheesh - and away we go again - NEXT ! on both sides - and why? who knows? - NEXT NEXT NEXT - it is a numbers game and the easiest way I can decide if i want to meet someone without having to get coffee and small talk out of the way first - NEXT!! enjoy the site for what it is - NEXT - enjoy the comradre on here - NEXT - it is a numbers game and eventually we will find NEXT! Why are people surprised there are matches out there we just dont get the "feel" for? Matching criteria or not doesnt stop some people taking an "idiot pill" in the morning or a "today is not my day pill" Some days I just dont enjoy my cup of "I dont give a rats sphincter" for breakfast but there is no need to take offense at why or what others do to a PICTURE on a screen cos it is not YOU and YOU just a dodged bullet.....NEXT!!

Have a really great day - NEXT! JJ
